New 10 mile course is fast!
Event number 9 in the Beech House Dental Practice Time Trial League was scheduled to be the 15-mile Club time trial on the A168. However, due to road works south of Boroughbridge, the league defaulted to the Roecliffe-Dishforth 10-mile course, once again.
This new 10-mile course is producing fast times so riders had chance to see if they could improve on their previous times.
20 riders signed on from Harrogate Nova, Moonglu and Harrogate Tri Club. There was an even split between TT bike and road bikes.
The weather was mild with quite a strong wind from the west.
Duncan Mullier (Nova) came in 1st place in 22:12 on a TT bike. Rob Senior (Nova) was 2nd in 22:46 on a road bike, setting a new male vet’s road bike record. Roger Bromiley (Nova) was 3rd in 23:00 on a TT bike.
Tilly Bland (Moonglu) was 1st lady in 25:57 on a TT bike with Joanne Wallace (Moonglu) 2nd in 28:35 on a road bike, equalling last week’s lady’s vet’s record.
Thanks as always to the support team who enable each event to take place – timekeepers, number-takers, signage and marshals. A particular thanks go to Margaret and Vaughan Caswell, Caroline Mullier and Ben Pease.
Next week’s event is the Aldborough 2 Lap time trial over 14 miles.
